Privacy
The short version: your pictures never leave your device, your patterns are stored in your own browser, and there is nothing to sign up for.
Pictures you convert
The pattern maker runs entirely in your browser. When you choose a picture, it is read by JavaScript on your own device, converted to a grid there, and never transmitted anywhere. There is no upload endpoint on this site — not a disabled one, not a private one; the code that would send an image does not exist.
You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a picture. You will see requests for the page, the stylesheet, the script, the fonts and the colour table — and nothing carrying your image.
Patterns you save
“Save to this device” writes the pattern into your browser's local storage. That data stays in that browser, on that device. We cannot read it, it is not synced, and it does not travel with you to another computer or phone.
The practical consequence, which is worth knowing before you rely on it: clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or switching devices will lose those patterns. Download anything you care about.
Share links and project files
“Copy share link” does not upload anything. The whole pattern is compressed and written into the link itself, after the #. Browsers never send the part of a URL after the # to the server, so the pattern in a share link does not reach us, our host, or anyone's server log — it travels only inside the link, wherever you paste it.
The consequence worth knowing: anyone who has the link has the pattern. Treat it like the pattern itself, not like a password-protected page. Links made before 28 August 2026 used ?c= instead, which browsers do send to the server; those links still open, but if a pattern matters to you, make a fresh one.
“Save project file” writes a file to your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

The site is served through Cloudflare, which as the hosting provider processes ordinary server request data (IP address, time, page requested, user agent) to deliver pages and defend against abuse. That is standard for any website and is not something we query, analyse or export.

For anything on this page, INNOMATRIX LIMITED is the data controller.
In practice there is very little to control: the site holds no accounts, sets no cookies of its own, and never receives your pictures or your patterns. If something here is wrong, unclear, or you have found a bug in a pattern, the fastest way to help is to tell us what you did and what you expected: hello@chartstitch.com.
About the colours. DMC does not publish official RGB values, so every on-screen colour table — including ours — is an estimate rather than a manufacturer figure. Ours is built from three public datasets by taking the median of each channel (how we built it); use it to plan the shape of a design, and check a real floss card before you buy thread. Charts you make here are yours, and nothing you upload leaves your browser: the converter runs entirely on your own device, with no account and no upload.
